Prenatal massage is safe and effective throughout your pregnancy, when offered by a prenatal massage specialist. Of course your midwife, MD or Ob/Gyn would like to hear you are receiving massage and some complications during pregancy will require their consultation before receiving bodywork.
Utilizing semi-reclined and side lying positions, and lots of strategically placed pillows, we keep baby safe and mom supported. Organic oils and lotions are used keep those stretch marks to a minimum.
Extra time is scheduled into these sessions for bathroom breaks and extra position changes.

1st Trimester: 4 biweekly sessions
2nd Trimester: 3 monthly sessions
3rd Trimester: 4 biweekly & 4 weekly

Motherhood is a wonderous and exhausting experience. Postpartum massage helps to improve your rest and speed your recovery. A happy, rested Momma makes for a happy, healthy baby.
Postpartum massage has been shown to:

Massage is recommended weekly to bi-weekly for mother and baby for the first 12 weeks postpartum and then according to the needs and progress of mom thereafter.
I encourage you to bring your baby to your appointment, so that you may snuggle and nurse as needed while you receive your massage. I include an extra 15 minutes in these sessions for nursing & diaper changes.
Massage after cesarean births can usually begin 6 weeks postpartum.
